Profile

Anya Madelyn White is a pianist, flutist, and oboist whose artistry and service come together to spark joy in her community. She has earned recognition in more than 40 competitions across international, national, state, and regional levels, while balancing academic excellence and leadership.

Founder — Hearts in Harmony

Anya is the Founder & Director of Hearts in Harmony, a youth-led initiative that brings classical music into senior homes, schools, and community spaces. She recruits young musicians, curates programs, directs rehearsals, and performs—sharing music with Alzheimer’s and dementia communities, children, and families.

Orchestral & Instrumental Work (Piano, Oboe, Flute)

 Member of the North Carolina Youth Orchestra (flute & oboe)

  • Athena Honor Band – Flute

  • First Chair – School Band (two consecutive years)

  •  Collaborative ensemble musician (chamber groups and school ensembles)

  • Over 40 awards at international, national, state, and regional levels

  • Three-time Gold Medalist – IPPA Conero International Piano Competition (Professional Artist & Young Artist category)

  • First Place – Charleston International Music Competition

  • First Place – Elite International Music Competition

  • First Place – MTAC Music Olympiad

  • Three-time recipient of the highest rating from North Carolina Music Teachers Association (Senior Category)

  • First Place – Charlotte Piano Teacher Forum (Senior Category)

  •  Grand Finalist – Piano Star International Competition, Bremen International Piano Competition, Music International Grand Prix

  • Two First Place awards – North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs (Musically Advanced I & Very Difficult II)

Anya has earned three invitations to perform at Carnegie Hall, accepting the honor twice. Each performance allowed her to share her artistry on one of the world’s most renowned stages, a recognition reserved for only the most accomplished young musicians
